⋘"ABKEHR (05)", also simply known as "05", comes from ZAAR's debut EP; self-released by the band on July 10, 2012 and going by the name "Abkehr". The full album is available digitally on Bandcamp; however, the band's original and "true" intent was for fans to hear it on the DIY-vinyl they put out. According to the Bandcamp page: "Some parts are missing and are only available on the vinyl !" (obviously meaning that while you can download the record at "Name Your Own Price", in order to hear the entire thing as it was meant to be heard, you need to purchase the vinyl). ADDED NOTES:

We’re a collective of three musicians who are obsessed by music and art. The interest for all kinds of music, art in general and passions has led us to a project that is full of eagerness to experiment as well as pure power.

We stand for an ideology to express a thought to move totally free in genres and sounds as well as in creating song structures. The daily dealing with all kinds of systems has brought us to the point to turn our backs on them and to try out different ways of arranging songs and structures in music.

Our first vinyl release, called “Abkehr” which means “renunciation” or “turning away”, is pretty much a record of our actual show. The album as well as the show are about 30min long and played in one piece.
The voice on the record is Alex v. Bolzn. At live shows Zaar consists of three people. We’re always looking for people who share the same idea though and are open‐minded for new experiences. Due to the idea of combining all kinds of genres in our music as well as in the lineup of shows, our intention is to play with all kinds of artists. We’d love to create shows more like a tramp through a musical landscape than the conventional bearing of the same over and over again.

Zaar are one of the most intriguing, unique, and talented bands we've ever heard! If the debut EP/vinyl is any indication, which EVERYONE on the Sociopathic Team feels it is, this band has absolutely nowhere to go but UP, UP, UP!! We actually came across these guys by pure accident/chance while we were searching under the tag "grindcore" on Bandcamp. Luckily, their album showed up and every member was drawn in by their finesse, their musicianship, their completely "out there" style, and their ability to literally mindfuck you with tempos, time changes, rhythm, and just about every other facet we can think of.

Obviously, every band who has made an appearance on one of the first two installments we feel strongly about; the same goes for all NINETY bands who appear on Volume 3. But, if we were forced to choose only, say, ten bands out of the multitude of acts who have appeared on the Mixtape Series thus far, Zaar would be amongst those choices. It is our strongest recommendation everyone follows Zaar closely; support the band by "LIKING" them on Facebook, and keep up to date on happenings because their next release is sure to top music "ABKEHR", as difficult as that may be to imagine. If ZAAR doesn't become internationally recognized within the next year or two, there's not much hope for extreme music because fans who would be ignorant of this jaw dropping, experimental grind style shouldn't even be considered "true" fans of heavy music! THAT's how strongly we feel about these guys!
