⋘"Berserker" is a track which can be found on Apocryphon's new split EP with Fabricant, available through Bandcamp and other outlets. Take note when you visit their BC page: Apocryphon decided to merge their two songs off the split into one longer track, entitled "Cydonian Enigmas/Berserker".

We took the liberty of splitting up the two tracks and choosing the one found on this compilation as opposed to including both for the sake of not ruining the nice surprise that is the band's first offering on the split release. It's uncertain why these experimental grinders decided to record their side of the release in the manner they did, but it doesn't ultimately matter ---- those interested can go listen to the whole offering right now by following the link found below!

APOCRYPHON are a psychedelic death metal/grindcore band from San Francisco, California. Their lyrical themes and overall aesthetic incorporate conspiracy theories, psychoactive chemicals, cosmic phenomena, death, psychology, violence, and obscure mythology. The band formed in October 2010, releasing their self-titled debut EP in July 2011 and a split EP with Lafayette, CA-based Fabricant on Horror Pain Gore Death Productions in March 2013.

It's quite rare to find a band deemed "psychedelic grindcore", and for that reason, among others, APOCRYPHON stands out amongst the seemingly endless sea of boring grind/death metal bands who replicate the same old sound time and again. Their debut EP is phenomenal and can be grabbed up on Bandcamp, while the aforementioned new split moves the band in an even darker, more sinister direction - not to mention an incredibly interesting and spontaneous one.

Any fan of extreme metal should immediately dig these guys and keep a close watch for further developments. Plenty of links are found in the appropriate section at the bottom of this page. Don't let these guys slip away from your memory, as their next release (likely a full length) is sure to murder every soul on this godforsaken planet!!! HAHA!!!!

Truthseeker sert-il à Brendan James Hayter et Alex Fewell, deux artistes versés dans le death metal, d'excursion éphémère hors du sentier ? Je pose cette question parce que ce projet n'a eu le droit qu'à deux sorties : Weightless at Dawn que nous avons ici et Blue Oblivion sorti la même année — et depuis, rien. C'est bien dommage au vu de toutes les qualités réunies dans ce petit E.P. : bien que taillées dans un post-rock assez lent à tendances doom metal, c'est d'une légèreté exceptionnelle !
