⋘"Brule" is taken from the only album by French grindcore act 29/09, which has been given the moniker "La Violence Thérapeutique" (Poison Tree Records; 2007). The album name translates to "Therapeutic Violence".⋙

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ BAND BIOGRAPHY & INFORMATION ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

29/09 is a trio from France (Nantes, Pays de la Loire); their unconventional name actually stands for the date "September the 29th". They formed in 2006 and play a sort of experimental Death Metal / Grindcore. Actually their music is somewhat like some sort of crossover between Grindcore and heavy Post rock. They have released one album in 2007 entitled “La violence Therapeutique” (Therapeutic Violence”) and are currently signed on the American Label Poison Tree Records. They are famous for they crazy and unbridled performances on stage; however, according to their official bio on Facebook, when translated, the band has only played approximately ten shows in their lifetime.

Currently, their status is "on hold", which essentially means they're uncertain of their future. Given that it has been over five years since the debut album was released, with no other recordings made and none planned as of now, it's safe to assume the band is likely finished - which is a shame considering how great of a grind act they are/were. Let's hope they get back together and write a follow-up album.

L'obsidienne est une roche de couleur noire et son aspect vitreux absorbe le regard ; mais sous la lumière, elle produit de magnifiques reflets arcs-en-ciel. C'est ce degré de magnificence qu'Obsidian Tongue vise dans A Nest of Ravens in the Throat of Time. Si la production est toujours rugueuse, le duo américain met l'accent sur les mélodies, plus profondes et mélancoliques. Progressives, les pistes se rallongent et se condensent. Winds of Sorrow est l'une des multiples facettes de l'artiste néo-zélandais Mort et aussi l'une des plus brèves puisque seul Through Twilight... naîtra sous ce patronyme. Mort part d'un bon concept, à savoir créer un doom metal/dungeon avec une emphase sur ce dernier, mais voit trop grand en visant le format de l'album alors qu'une démo était suffisante. Les atmosphères gothiques et parfois folkloriques sont envoûtantes mais couvrent trop une voix qu'on finit par oublier. Un album sympathique. Jordan Vauvert
