⋘"Ecstasy In Death" can be found on SEVERED CROTCH's debut full length album "The Nature of Entropy". The songs on the album range all the way from the band's earliest days up to very recent material. It was mostly recorded by Ási Jóhannson and co-produced by Severed Crotch and was self-released by the band during the summer of 2010. In March 2011 it was released worldwide by Amputated Vein Records.⋙

In 2004 Severed Crotch was formed in Reykjavík from the ashes of the two death metal bands Lack of Trust and Nocturn. The four members (Gunnar, Kjartan, Þórður and Torfi) started writing material for this new band. In late summer 2004 vocalist Ingólfur joined the band, and Severed Crotch played their first batch of shows, with great response from the local scene. In early 2005 Severed Crotch parted ways with guitarist Torfi, and the band abandoned their brutish old-school Death Metal roots and grew into a far more brutal and technical beast. While new songs were being written, Ingvar (Momentum) joined on live guitars and the band continued to play several shows in Reykjavík with both local and international acts. Ingvar left in late 2005 and Severed carried on as a 4 piece. Not letting the departure of a guitarist hold them back, Severed kept playing plenty of shows and getting responses as good as ever. During the summer of 2006 the band recorded their debut Ep entitled Soul Cremation which wasn't released until almost a year later. In march 2007 the young guitarist Marvin joined the fold and Severed Crotch was back to a quintet. During the fall of 2007 the band recorded a 3 song EP for promotional purposes. Early the following year Marvin left the group due to some personal reasons. After that Ingvar reunited with Severed Crotch and they went into the studio to record their debut full length album "The Nature of Entropy", which Severed Crotch self-released in 2010. A year later, the album received worldwide distribution through Amputated Vein Records.

Severed Crotch has become quite the popular act in the local metal scene in iceland and are known for their intense live shows and ability to play their music while heavily intoxicated. The band has opened for several bands that have visited Iceland including Amon Amarth, Municipal Waste, Rotting Christ, Finntroll, Mercenary, Contradiction, Burnt by the sun and none other than Cannibal Corpse.

Unfortunately, in the midst of SOCIOPATHIC MIXTAPE, VOL. 3 being compiled, and just a few days after receiving the go-ahead by the band to use whichever track we deemed most appropriate for the project, Severed Crotch officially announced that they had split up; this occurred on August 20, 2012. Thus, this looks to be their final appearance on any compilation or record.

C'est ce degré de magnificence qu'Obsidian Tongue vise dans A Nest of Ravens in the Throat of Time. Si la production est toujours rugueuse, le duo américain met l'accent sur les mélodies, plus profondes et mélancoliques. Progressives, les pistes se rallongent et se condensent. Winds of Sorrow est l'une des multiples facettes de l'artiste néo-zélandais Mort et aussi l'une des plus brèves puisque seul Through Twilight... naîtra sous ce patronyme. Mort part d'un bon concept, à savoir créer un doom metal/dungeon avec une emphase sur ce dernier, mais voit trop grand en visant le format de l'album alors qu'une démo était suffisante. Les atmosphères gothiques et parfois folkloriques sont envoûtantes mais couvrent trop une voix qu'on finit par oublier. Un album sympathique. Jordan Vauvert
