Mother Brain - Scumbag (Previously Unreleased)

from Sociopathic Mixtape, Vol. 3 by Various Artists

/

about

⋘"Scumbag" comes from the forthcoming 7" vinyl release "Straight To Business" by MOTHER BRAIN. The album is currently being finalized in the studio, with the band needing to choose from one of two "final" mixes. The version found herein is one which SOCIOPATHIC SOUND originally received and worked on insofar as splitting up the continuous .WAV file that will be used to press the LP.

PLEASE NOTE: The band's first couple of releases - EP 1 and EP 2 - are both available for free download at the links in the appropriate section below. Both are designated as "DOWNLOAD" links so everyone can have an easy time locating them.

That said, the material found on "Straight To Business" is much faster and more brutal than the tracks that appear on the first two EPs. During discussions with the band, they told us while playing shows they were booked for, the individuals who had booked them for various venues couldn't even believe it was the same band. Obviously, MOTHER BRAIN upped the ante with their pending album!!⋙

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ BAND BIOGRAPHY & INFORMATION ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Featuring ex members of The Partisan Turbine and Revenance, Mother Brain is a mixture of oldschool grind, hardcore, punk rock and noise garbage. This is real end of the world type shit.

After committing years of our lives between two bands (The Partisan Turbine/Revenance) growing up, we continue to tear up our instruments as often as possible. Mother Brain is the result of 3 amigos who will continue to play fast-rowdy music until we shit out.

Started after inactivity between both bands; it became an opportune time to start something new and stay active on jammin'. It started in mid-2010 with Matt and I (Dan) bullshitting in his basement and later on added Joe to shit (yell) into his mic. TPT and Revenance were inactive so, why not? After establishing 4 songs in a couple of months we hit Full-Force Studios in October 2010 to lay down EP #1. The first few songs were done to have something substantial and present a sound we could agree upon. Since then, we went on playing ANY show we possibly could and stayed playing 2-3 shows every month for a solid year.

After no luck with finding a bass player we continued on playing shows, slowly adding more pieces to our wall of sound and focusing on presenting ourselves as a "3-piece" band. Refining our sound some more, we hit Full-Force again the following year to record 6 new songs and re-record 4 old ones on EP #2. Since that recording we acquired ourselves a sweet 24/7 studio room to make the loudest noise possible. We're preparing all new material to record on a third EP and hopefully Split album.

Mother Brain continues to experiment with unorthodox ideas not typically falling into one category. From some abrasive shredding at mach speeds to some slow n' lows that'll make you want to rip out your jaw; we try to fill any gap that is "nasty". There are no goals, but to deliver some gross sounds and have a great fuckin' time doing so. We're just three friends that like sharing fast and heavy music. Check out our FREE music. Book us and let's party. -MB 2012
