⋘"The Leeches" is a track off of the debut LP by Russian grind/crust/powerviolence band INTERNAL DAMAGE, originally released in 2010.⋙

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ BAND BIOGRAPHY & INFORMATION ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Internal Damage is a four-piece grindcore/powerviolence/crust unit which formed out of Saint-Petersburg, Russia in late 2007. For several years the band played local clubs, forming a name for themselves and gaining more & more recognition in the region. However, it wasn't until 2009 that they put out their first release in the form of a 5-track demo simply titled "2009 Demo"; the next year saw their debut full length "Blindness and Denial" see the light of day through TWISTED TRUTH RECORDS.

The band continued to evolve as musicians, play shows, and gain further acknowledgement as a major player in the international grindcore scene; their politically driven lyrics exhibit old school-type grind in the vein of Napalm Death, a band they are clearly heavily inspired by.

In March of 2012, Twisted Truth Records, in coordination with Core Records, released a limited edition 7" vinyl split featuring three tracks by UNHOLY GRAVE & four tracks by INTERNAL DAMAGE (including an awesome cover of SEPULTURA's "Biotech Is Godzilla"); there were only 300 copies of this 7" ever pressed and to the best of my knowledge it is now sold out.

Finally, on October 10, 2012, Internal Damage, newly signed to EVERYDAYHATE RECORDS, released their sophomore full length by the title "Age Of Violence"; the album marks a distinctive change in the band's original sound, namely with the vocal performance of frontman Kostek. The band continues to play a vicious, politically-driven style of grindcore, but on their second LP there seems to be more of a d-beat and crust influence whereas the band focused on a deathgrind style in earlier years. It'll be interesting to see how they continue to evolve.
