about

⋘"Blistered Dejection" comes from PLF's newest and possibly greatest album to date; released on February 8, 2013 via Six Weeks Records, this masterpiece in grindcore/death metal goes by the title "Devious Persecution and Wholesale Slaughter". Featuring 14 crushing, relentless tracks of utter chaos, this is also the first full length record that P.L.F. (otherwise known as PRETTY LITTLE FLOWER) has put out in a long time - the last one stemming way back to 2008 ("Crushing Fury of Bastardization")!! It was a long time coming but well worth the wait, as the band have truly released an album for the ages and a DEFINITE contender for "Best of 2013". If you haven't done so already, check it out ASAP!!!!!

Additional Album Notes...

"Six Weeks Records is proud to announce what could probably be the most devastating grindcore record of 2013 and the year just started!! Just end the competition because P.L.F. have unleashed an unbelievable exercise in pure, old school grindcore at its most damaging on this, their new release: "Devious Persecution And Wholesale Slaughter", a head crushing battering of 14 new, insanely powerful tracks. Observe all the elements: Harsh bolts of terror with influence taken from the legends of grindcore history (TERRORIZER, NAPALM DEATH, ASSUCK, REPULSION) and twisted all together with violent death/thrash metal bloodletting and an immense, ceiling collapsing studio recording, making this effort a milestone for this veteran Houston, Texas band, and grindcore itself."

Recorded/mixed in spring/summer 2012 by Garry Brents at GAB Recordings and Mike BBQ at Big Door Studios, and mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door in Summer 2012.

Bassist Marshall Sehmann was in the band at this time but did not perform on the record.⋙

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ BAND BIOGRAPHY & INFORMATION ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Pretty Little Flower is a grindcore band started in 1999 in Houston, Texas. Until the 2007 full-length "Pulverizing Lethal Force" the band was called Pretty Little Flower. With that album they changed it to the acronym, which now stands for "Pulverizing Lethal Force". Logo by Benjamin Thomas, who was also the band's secondary guitarist for about a month in early 1999.

Their sound has been described as the "illegitimate marriage of grindcore and thrash metal". Frank Faerman and Dave Callier remain the only two constant members, with the band never having a stable bassist. Frank Faerman had also played drums for Insect Warfare, another (more popular) grindcore band hailing from the same city in support of their 2005 At War With Grindcore EP. As of 2010, they have released two full-length albums, one EP, one compilation and seven split albums, with many more splits to follow. They have toured with bands such as Insect Warfare, Wormrot, Phobia and others. They are also a pivotal act in the "Gulf Coast Hardcore scene".

The band writes about themselves on their MySpace, saying:

Grinding 'em down since 1999. Pro-mosh, Pro-fun DIY grindcore. Toured the States 6 times, Germany / Czech once, and also did a more extensive european tour in 2008, going to Spain, the Basque Country, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Czech, and Poland. We Love to play lots of shows and have a good time. Scene-haters and crybabies FUCK OFF.

P.L.F.'s discography consists of countless splits with bands from across the entire grindcore spectrum; there are honestly too many to count! Their 2006 compilation/anthology/collection gathers the majority of split & EP material from 1999 - 2005 and offers fans an easy manner of getting it all on one disc, entitled "COMPLETE GRINDCORE ANNIHILATION" & released via RESCUED FROM LIFE RECORDS, this is a definite "need to have" album by these guys.

Surprisingly, the group has only put out three full lengths over the course of their rather long & storied career; 2007's "Pulverizing Lethal Force", 2008's "Crushing Fury of Bastardization", and finally after a long gap during which time a lot of fans believed the band to be broken up all together, they come back storming onto the scene with what is perhaps their most vicious and awesome material to date with 2013's "Devious Persecution and Wholesale Slaughter"!

lyrics

Floating through a garbage life,
Sweatpants caked with logs
Fragile homebum dejection
Blistered lips, teeth are gone
Slept in my car, stole my antenna - chasing another rock
Limping off with my bike
...A jaw that will never re-align
Your life is rocked up
Lurking
The intense fervor of whining self-pity
Excuses pile up like so many aluminum cans
Slow motion shifty crackmonger existence

Removed from any semblance of a waking life - death would be a step up
Rocked up - Death
