⋘Stemming from the full length album by Burnt Church "EMBRACING THE VOID", which was self-released by the band on March 12, 2012, the song "Death To Death Core" is one of the twelve tracks appearing on the band's debut LP.

The Halifax-based outfit has as of late been playing a number of live shows as both headliner and as an opener for large, international touring bands (note: when the term "large" is used here referring to the bands who BURNT CHURCH have opened up for, we clearly are not referring to the likes of Slayer; rather, more such as Rotten Sound or groups on par with those particular grindcore kings). ⋙

The grindcore whirl-wind that is Burnt Church, based out of Halifax, is made up of guitarist/vocalist Mike Parks, drummer Gerald Smith, guitarist Dan Jamieson, bass player Myron Cottreau. All have done time in a number of other bands including Existench, FistFight, Wohedness, Sloth, Prisoners, Raygunomics Thy Flesh Consumed, On the Blood of Others, Gorbage and Beneath the Lies.

Formed in March of 2009 by Mike Parks and Gerald Smith to play fast as hell grindcore that comes from the hardcore tradition.

The grindcore band incorporating elements of Sludge, black metal and powerviolence have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the international grindcore scene.

The core of the band is made up of guitarist/vocalist Mike Parks (prisoners, sloth, beneath the lies, raygunomics) and drummer Gerald Smith (thy flesh consumed, existench, sloth, gorbage), with bassist Myron Cottreau (Fistfight) and guitarist Dan Jamieson (Thy Flesh Consumed, Sloth, Woehedness) rounding out the group.

They draw influences from acts such as Discordance Axis, Insect Warfare, Darkthrone, Immortal, DRI, Cryptic Slaughter, Capitalist Casualties, Spazz, Crossed Out, Man is the Bastard, No Comment, Corrupted, Noothgrush, Black Sabbath, Abstain and a million more.

Equinox, split entre Ancient Tundra et Old Forgotten Lands, est une expérience de dark ambiant qui nous met entre chiens et loups. Bien que rétros, les atmosphères sont hypnotiques et chargées de mystères. Finalement, c'est dommage que le concept de l'équinoxe ne soit pas poussé jusqu'au bout et que le temps imparti pour les deux artiste ne soit pas équitable car N Skog finit par éclipser involontairement Elan O'Neal. En tout cas, les cinquante minutes sont certes lugubres mais très agréables. Jordan Vauvert

De l'action de descendre sciemment vers le néant au constat simple, lancé dans un dernier soupir, comme si on était mis devant le fait accompli : There is no beauty left here... Mais contre toute attente, ce chant du cygne d'Exiled from Light n'est pas une acceptation résignée de la mort. Mort (je parle de l'artiste) est animé de l'énergie du désespoir, cette énergie qui fait accomplir des choses extraordinaires quand tout est perdu et ça rend son DSBM très beau, paradoxalement.
