⋘A glance at the visceral cover art that accompanies Confine’s debut record should stand you in good stead for the aural abuse to come. Suicide, medication, pollution, unmarked graves and giant ants boring into your screaming skull. Yeah, this aint likely to be pretty. And it really isn’t. Boasting a super group-style line up culled from the UK extreme scene (members also pollute ears in The Afternoon Gentlemen, Corrupt Moral Altar, Oblivionized, Human Cull and more) Confine are a rotten and putrid grindcore massacre. A veritable depraved orgy of whirlwind blastbeats, head-crushing sludge, inhuman screams and riffs that the feeble human mind can barely comprehend. Throughout the 8 tracks, barely ever pushing past 70 seconds each, Confine drag you through a feverish nightmare of constantly shifting audible violence. Never predictable, utterly dangerous and with a layer of tangible grime and misery that only UK grindcore can provide.

"PERCEPTION" is the third out of eight tracks on CONFINE's debut record, and although we chose this track to be included on the mixtape, this is one fucking hell of a grindcore effort by an experienced collective of veteran musicians who are out to set the world on fire! Not to mention the intensity and instantaneous recognition of ARIF ROT's unique artwork helping to accentuate the music itself!

Okay, this might be a bit “Jenny from the block” and a grindcore block at that, but lurking within the grindcore “underground” - if you want to call it that- there are some pretty unique bands, especially from the United Kingdom. If you’re from those parts, you probably know what I’m ranting about, if not, allow me enlighten you. Yes Grindcore Block Jenny still has junk in the trunk, before you ask.

So, France has a few grindcore bands that make fast, noisy music (Blockheads, Chiens, Nolentia and Warfuck) and I may or may not have referred to them as the “Big 4” of grindcore from France. So, it’s up to the cretins in the U.K. to step up, with regards to noisy racket Well, I seemingly got my wish! Bands like The Afternoon Gentleman, Horsebastard and Oblivionized make crushing, angry, fast, chaotic noise all under the umbrella of grindcore, some might have some power violence in there or “avant” characteristics, but it’s grindcore nonetheless.

Before you school me on my poor math, I do know there are only 3 bands, so where is the forth? Enter Confine, a grindcore act made up of Zac from Oblivionized, Edd from Human Cull/Disfortune, Rich from The Afternoon Gentleman/Gets Worse and Chris from Corrupt Moral Altar/HorseBastard. So there, your rowdy, noisy 4 from the U.K., you’re welcome. Don’t take my opinions literally on a “noisy rowdy 4” because I live very far away, but these guys are making fucking waves that we down here in /accent/ Seth Efrica /accent/ are feeling.
