⋘"Scars" is one of eleven tracks found on CRIME MACHINE's second EP, called "The Crime Machine EP" and released on March 27, 2013. According to various online sources, this EP was recorded only a short while prior to official release and it was done so by a different incarnation of the band than the one which put out its original EP back in 2009.⋙

◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ BAND BIOGRAPHY & INFORMATION ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Crime Machine was formed in 2007 in Portland, Oregon by Nathan Richardson & Casey Lynch. The line up has changed several times, now consisting of Nathan Richardson & John Lichtenberg. As stated above, the first incarnation of the duo (Nathan & Casey) were responsible for putting out the 2009 "Criminal Minded" EP, while the current line up of Nathan and John wrote, recorded and released "The Crime Machine EP" earlier this year, 2013.

Aside from these facts, not much information is available about these guys, which is a shame considering how fucking killer they are; every track found on the both the first and second EPs are full of memorable riffs, tight chords, heavy as fuck bass, pristine drumming, and an all around unique listening experience. Does Crime Machine create something totally new, something never heard before? The answer is a simple no. However, that being said, the band members clearly know how to influence and inspire one another to create a sound which is definitely reminiscent of other grindcore/death metal/hardcore acts, yet it remains a sound all their own at the same time. This isn't an easy task, but it's one the band manages to pull off seamlessly.

Equinox, split entre Ancient Tundra et Old Forgotten Lands, est une expérience de dark ambiant qui nous met entre chiens et loups. Bien que rétros, les atmosphères sont hypnotiques et chargées de mystères. Finalement, c'est dommage que le concept de l'équinoxe ne soit pas poussé jusqu'au bout et que le temps imparti pour les deux artiste ne soit pas équitable car N Skog finit par éclipser involontairement Elan O'Neal. En tout cas, les cinquante minutes sont certes lugubres mais très agréables. Jordan Vauvert

De l'action de descendre sciemment vers le néant au constat simple, lancé dans un dernier soupir, comme si on était mis devant le fait accompli : There is no beauty left here... Mais contre toute attente, ce chant du cygne d'Exiled from Light n'est pas une acceptation résignée de la mort. Mort (je parle de l'artiste) est animé de l'énergie du désespoir, cette énergie qui fait accomplir des choses extraordinaires quand tout est perdu et ça rend son DSBM très beau, paradoxalement.
