Formed in Dallas, Texas in 2008, Cleric stormed onto the local underground extreme music scene like a tornado! Conceived by John Schiller and Zach Jobin, the five piece outfit recorded a five track demo (note: the material was never officially released, though digital copies are floating around the internet ever since members of the band posted a mediafire link to the demo on Facebook; unfortunately said link is now dead). Regardless of how immense their initial impact on the Texas extreme music scene was, the band nevertheless fell apart towards the end of 2009 - mostly because of problems with finding a dependable vocalist.

John Schiller, Zac Christian, and Zach Jobin decided to continue playing together and thus formed a black metal group, calling themselves Tyrannosorceress; one demo from this project came out in 2011, shortly before CLERIC reformed - this time with Zac Christian on vocal duties (Zac is likewise the lead man in Tyrannosorceress). This new incarnation of the band moved forward with their plans to play as many live shows as possible while writing & recording material for their debut, riding the reputation gained the first time around as a true death metal titan featuring veteran musicians from bands such as KILL THE CLIENT and BARING TEETH, among others. The group's first performance was at the No Thanks Fest.

CLERIC has been playing a ton of live sets all over the Dallas area, eventually being picked up by TOFU CARNAGE RECORDS who plan to release "GRATUM INFERNO" on limited edition Piss Yellow with Blood Red and Milky Clear Splatter 12" LPs! Don't shit the bed on this one, guys, because there are only 250 of these bad ass motherfuckers being pressed, so grab yours via the pre-order link below NOW!
