⋘After a split with FETUS EATERS and their 2006 full length debut "Bloodbath", Eat The Living stepped it up a notch with their sound on the 2008 release "Braaiiins" (Kitchen Vomit Records). While their style had always been an evil, almost demonic sounding combination of death metal & grindcore, on "Braaiiins" the band and frontwoman Jen (also known as Jenocide, added varying elements of doom, crust, sludge, and even a hint of melodic Swedish death metal/metalcore, taking a direct influence from the likes of AT THE GATES, SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, and others.⋙

Formed in 2000 and based in North Hollywood, California, EAT THE LIVING started out as a straight up death/grind band who later incorporated many other extreme metal elements into their sound. Known as being one of the early female-fronted extreme metal acts, the band managed to solidify their position as a leader of the pack following the release of their sophomore full length "Braaiiins", which saw a 2008 release through Kitchen Vomit Records.

Although nothing much has been heard about the band since around 2009 or 2010, the fact that they are currently building a brand new "main' band site suggests a new full length is in the works. Expect to hear a whole new level of devastation from these guys (and gal) soon!! It'll be easy to keep track of their progress through the links provided below, where you'll also find an iTunes link to purchase their music in digital form (plus places to buy their physical CDs).

Truthseeker sert-il à Brendan James Hayter et Alex Fewell, deux artistes versés dans le death metal, d'excursion éphémère hors du sentier ? Je pose cette question parce que ce projet n'a eu le droit qu'à deux sorties : Weightless at Dawn que nous avons ici et Blue Oblivion sorti la même année — et depuis, rien. C'est bien dommage au vu de toutes les qualités réunies dans ce petit E.P. : bien que taillées dans un post-rock assez lent à tendances doom metal, c'est d'une légèreté exceptionnelle !
