Haut&Court. - Let It Burst

from Sociopathic Mixtape, Vol. 4 by Various Artists

/

about

⋘The song "Let It Burst" appears as the opening track to Haut&Court.'s debut EP, "La Vie", a phenomenally impressive first effort by a band who only formed a short while back (according to their bandcamp site, they've been around for slightly less than one year; having gotten together in June 2012).

The album begins out blasting like crazy and never lets up, with the band dishing out sheer energy in the form of grindcore, crust, d-beat, hardcore, and even elements of death metal & various experimentation (you'll even hear some thrash metal in there!). This is genuinely one of the most honest and awesome debut releases I have heard in a long time. A band with this much potential can't be a "one hit wonder" in terms of album; I fully expect Haut&Court. to release a full length album which immediately places them amongst the world's best extreme metal acts!!!!

Here's to hoping!⋙

NAME: Haut&Court

THEY ARE: Mathcrust (in the words of the band)
FROM: Strasbourg, France
FOR FANS OF: Botch, Gaza, early Cave In
UPCOMING RELEASE: New album coming on March 2013
SONGS TO CHECK OUT: ‘Let It Burst’

Strasbourg bruisers Haut&Court are a relatively new band, yet display a maturity of sound that bands who have been together for years display. Blending the uglier sides of hardcore and metal with a grindcore intensity and a grim blackened atmosphere shared by their peers Gaza, the band are definitely blossoming into an appealing prospect for any fan of early 2000s metalcore bands like Cave In, Botch, Breather Resist and Norma Jean. We spoke with the band to get the lowdown on life the universe and everything…

How did you guys get together?

We played 2 years ago together, the band we were in by that time didn’t worked at all, but it was obvious for us that we would do something together. 7 months ago, we tried again!

Can you tell us a little about your current release?

La Vie is our first studio experiences, and we are still looking for our sonic personality, it approaches what we’re looking for, but we are still working hard to reach it. This EP is all about our common passion for raw, passionate and deep music.

What influences you, both musically and lyrically?

We are listening to a lot of different stuff, the new Blackened hardcore scene with bands as Verdun, Birds in Row etc is quite inspiring, along to big references likes The Dillinger Escape Plan, Gaza…

Regarding the lyrics, it’s all about our view on today’s valors, on the fact that the little thing are more important. We need an evolution, no blood stained revolution.

What’s the local metal scene like in Strasbourg? Who do you consider to be your peers?

Our scene is quite rich, Inhumate is definitely a band that inspired us, their completely mad on stage and prove us that you can travel and acquire awesome experiences while staying totally underground.

As peers, we’re happy to know Ratbomb, Tortured Soul and so many others!

What are your plans for the future?

Traveling as much as possible, to spread our music and meet new people! Working our asses of to finalise our first album for the beginning of 2013.

FROM THE BAND'S PRESSKIT (link to mediafire download of it is on their Facebook profile, as well as listed below):

Founded in June 2012, we recorded our first EP "La Vie" in two days 6 months later. We shaped our songs to fit the stage as it is our first aim. We really want to travel as much as possible to spread our music and meet new persons.

We have a lot of influences in a wide range of genres, from hip hop to jazz and of course all kinds of metal. That explains why we wanted to do something different, mathcrust.

In January 2013, Merko, from the band The Pledge of Cain (www.facebook.com/Thepledgeofcain) joined us.
