2009: ANTROPOFAGO is born, mere project, at the time, of guitarist and composer Gordon Huillery (ex-Repudiate, Surgery). By hiring musicians, the projet became a band and quickly, an eponymous 4 track demo came to light in 2010, with Melmoth The Wanderer (ex-Cryptic Reborn) on vocals. The videoclip of the song «Ravenous» was shot a few months later. As the band played its first concerts, and its line up stabilized itself step by step, it also gained in maturity. Webzines reception of the eponymous demo was unanimous : The band definitly has potential, which would acquire full significance through a better production. ANTROPOFAGO then plays concert after concert, and works on the creation of «Beyond Phobia», its first album. Brasilian Label Miceli Records then contacts them to distribute their music. When «Beyond Phobia» swept on the web in early 2011, it was 12 tracks of rare brutality that struck the online world, and some found this album very good (19/20 on Metalsickness.com). ANTROPOFAGO got back on stage unabated, and shared the spotlight with international bands (Hate – Poland, Vesania – Poland, Ulcerate – New Zealand, Nefarium – Italy, Otargos – France, Insain – France, Svart Crown – France, Livarkahil – France, Demented – France, Mercyless – France, Morgue - France, Blazing War Machine – France, etc...). On 2012 November 1st, ANTROPOFAGO annonces the signature of a multi-album deal with Kaotoxin Records, and the same day, the EP "between Fear And Madness" is launched. 2013, January: The first album «Beyond Phobia» reissued under Kaotoxin. At the moment, the band is recording a second album.


Antropofago - Antropofago
first EP (2010)

Antropofago » is the first release of the band, out in january 2010. The internet reviews made so far are witness of the quality of this opus (c.f. LINKS at the left of this page). « Ravenous » song appears on the « French Metal » compilation, and gives birth to a video-clip. The song « Cute Enough To Eat » appears on « Décibels pour Haïti » compilation. « Human Hunt » is on « Pavillon 666 » last compilation.


Antropofago - Beyond Phobia
Album (Miceli Records – 2011 / Reissue by Kaotoxin - 2013)

In the year 2011, Antropofago launches its fist 12 tracks album, titled Beyond Phobia. For this album, le band engaged Vincent Cassar (Unreal Visions design) for the artwork, and Studio Astralis for the mixage and mastering. Booklet photos are signed Buffet Froid, an artist from montpellier. The track « My Darkest Hour » appears on « Combat Nasal Vol.5 », and « Arachno » on « French Metal – Sérénades avec la mort ».


Antropofago - Between Fear And Madness
EP (Kaotoxin Records - 2012)

November 2012, Antropofago annonces the signature of a multi-album deal with Kaotoxin, and launches an EP featuring a track from the future album, an unreleased song, and the re-recording of a song that was released between the demo and the first album. Mixing and mastering are made by David Fantoni (InnerSound Studio).

Antropofago is working at the moment on a new album. This opus will be out in 2013 under the banner of Kaotoxin Records, and will be produced by Brett Caldas-Lima (Megadeth, Devin Townsend).
